RESPONSIBILITIES  (Key  accountabilities  and  responsibilities)

  Ensure  that  engineering  activities  are  maintained  within  constraints  provided  by  program  management  team.

  Define  the  system  development  cycle  and  defines  the  process,  practices  and  tools  applicable  to  the  project  

  Coordinate  and  track  work  implementation  with  a  focus  on  delivery  on-time  and  quality.

  Communicate  resource  requests  in  a  timely  manner  to  Engineering  Department  Manager,  allowing  the  acquisition  of  resources  that  have  the  correct  skills  to  meet  the  expected  milestones.

Manage  resources  allocated  to  each  work  package  ensuring  they  have  the  correct  information  to  allow  them  to  realize  their  objectives

  Identify  and  track  work  package  risks  and  opportunities.

  Defines  and  tailor  the  engineering  environment  suitable  for  the  project.

  Be  responsible  for  managing  software  defect  corrections  in  line  with  project  prioritisation  criteria.

  Be  responsible  for  reporting  technical  progress  to  project  Program  Manager  and  Engineering  Department  Manager.

  Provide  input  to  Software  Team  Leaders  during  objectives  settings,  AADs  and  PDDs  for  engineering  people  working  on  designated  work  packages.

  Ensure  the  global  consistency  of  the  engineering  process,  practices  and  tools,  to  organise  the  co-engineering  

  Identify  the  engineering  skills  needed  to  ensure  project  delivery

  Ensure  the  key  people  appointed  on  the  project  are  properly  skilled

  Optimise  technical  work  by  organising  system  engineering  reviews  and  participating  to  those  of  lower  level  solution  elements  from  design  to  validation  and  acceptance.

  Track  competitiveness  KPI,  performs  root  cause  analysis  of  problems  and  conduct  associated  corrective  actions.

  Contributes  to  the  Quality  Assurance  activities  by  ensuring  visibility  on  the  engineering  work  packages  for  the  project.

QUALIFICATION
  Master's  Degree  in  Engineering  /  Computer  Science  /  Aerospace  /  Air  Traffic  Control  (ATC)    or  other  relevant  majors

Project  Management  Certification  (PMP  or  Prince2)  desirable

ESSENTIAL  EXPERIENCE

  2  year  leadership  experience  in  managing  system  engineering  projects  in  a  business  environment.

5  year  experience  working  in  real  time  and  distributed  systems  in  Rail,  Traffic,  Marine,  Aviation  or  any  safety  real  time  systems  area.

  Excellent  communications  skills  including  written  and  verbal  English  skills.

  Proven  experience  in  coaching  and  mentoring  other  team  members.    

  Experience  in  international  and  multicultural  teams.    

  Proven  experience  in  estimation,  tracking  and  monitoring,  risk  assessments  

DESIRABLE  EXPERIENCE

  Experience  or  knowledge  of  Air  Traffic  Control  domain.  

  Experience  in  delivering  technical  trainings.  

  Experience  in  delivering  of  large  scale  complex  mission-critical  systems.
