Responsibility  1  Sourcing  and  cost  reduction



Source  materials  and  tooling  both  locally  in  China  and  oversea  to  meet  technical  requirements.  Lead  supplier  relationship  until  Engineering  sign-off  and  transfer  to  production.
Ability  to  use  internet  and  personal  network  for  fast  sourcing  of  material  and  equipment.  Ability  to  use  suppliers  to  develop  company  internal  know-how.
Provide  all  technical  and  other  data  to  the  suppliers  necessary  for  them  to  fulfill  their  contractual  commitment  to  Norduyn  China.
Interface  between  suppliers  and  the  responsible  engineers  to  manage  product  changes.  
Document  sourcing  projects  to  build  a  good  supplier  and  material  information  database  and  allow  future  reference.
Lead  material  replacement  projects  and  validation  with  related  functions  for  cost  down,  quality  improvements  and  capacity  increase.



Responsibility  2  Supplier  development


Liaise  with  suppliers  to  establish  quality,  timing  &  costs  plans  for  the  assigned  parts  in  line  with  Norduyn  China  standards.
Work  with  suppliers  to  continuously  improve  quality,  timing  and  cost.  Sign  agreements  with  suppliers  were  necessary  to  lock  in  cost  and  delivery  quantities  to  match  Norduyn  China  business  objectives.
Develop  backup  supply  sources  to  mitigate  potential  supply  or  quality  risks.



Responsibility  3  Quality  improvement


Perform  initial  audit  of  suppliers  to  enable  engineering  sign  off  &  ongoing  technical  support.  Train  Quality  team  on  supplier  inspection  and  logistics  buyer  on  technical  specs.
Provide  technical  support  to  aid  in  improving  quality  systems  and  drive  Supplier  concern  resolution  process.
Interface  with  manufacturing  &  quality  department  to  resolve  identified  supplier  quality  issues.  
Resolve  the  existing  issues  and  instruct  supplier  effectively  as  planed
