Job  De\\scription:  

Inspection  of  work  for  aviation  wheels  and  brakes  overhauled  at  the  facility  per  CFR/ATO/DCA/JAA  and  FAA  requirements.  
Support  in  maintaining  shop  compliance  to  current  FAA,  ATO,  JAA  and  DCA,  ISO/AS9100,  C.A.S.E,  CUSTOMER,  NDT  procedures  and  Quality  Management  System.  
Adhere  to  *******  Code  of  Conduct  and  Heath  Safety  &  Environmental  regulations  in  every  activity  while  present  in  the  plant.  
Team  with  Operations  Manager  and  other  Team  Leaders  to  meet  production  schedules,  customer  requirements.  Calculate  First  Pass  Yield  (FPY),  Customer  Escape  PPM  and  Supplier  Performance  Metrics  Sigma  calculations.  Perform  training  as  required.  
Conducts  tests,  inspections,  audits  and  validations  to  ensure  process  compliance  with  customer  contracts,  **********  and  FAA/ATO/DCA  /JAA  requirements  and  specifications  for  design,  engineering,  products,  processes,  equipment,  maintenance  and  services.  
Validates  that  certification/calibration  for  operators  and  special  processes  is  current.  Conducts  source  inspections,  evaluations  and/or  surveillance  of  vendors,  suppliers  and  subcontractors.  Uses  and  cares  for  inspection  tools,  measuring  and  test  equipment.  
Conducts  sampling  inspections  in  accordance  with  approved  plans  and  procedures.  
Foster  an  enterprise-wide  “prevention”  culture.  Conducts  follow-up  audits  to  review  the  effectiveness  of  implemented  corrective  actions.  
Drive  projects  as  well  as  providing  training,  coaching  and  advices  in  order  to  implement  Lean  philosophy  throughout  the  site.  
Collects  and  uses  statistical  data  for  the  monitoring  and  evaluation  of  trends.  
Provides  training  and  coaching  to  both  operational  &  inspection  personnel.  
Participates  in  customer  requirement  reviews  to  ensure  inclusion  of  quality  requirements.  Ensure  all  customer  complaints  (Warranty/SIR  issues)  are  investigated,  analyzed  and  that  corrective  measures  are  initiated  and  resolved.  
Provides  activity  and  status  reports  to  management.  Performs  all  other  duties  as  assigned.
KEY  SELECTION  CRITERIA  

  

A  minimum  of  4  to  5  years  Quality  Assurance  Management  experience  in  an  aerospace  MRO  environment.    Additional  experience  in  NDT  inspection  in  related  professional/industrial  experience  will  be  a  plus.  
A  through  knowledge  of  inspection  techniques,  equipment,  continuous  improvement  methodologies,  Statistical  Process  Control,  Six  Sigma  Plus  and  Defect  Management.  
Demonstrate  accountability  and  ownership  in  completing  assigned  multitasks  with  minimal  supervision.  
Must  be  able  to  read,  write  and  understand  English,  as  well  as  understand  technical  literature  and  drawings.  
Must  be  process  oriented,  good  communication  skills,  and  be  able  to  work  in  both  a  team  and  individual  environment.  
Ability  to  interface  with  Regulatory  authorities  to  build  credibility,  and  confidence  in  Quality  program.  
Be  self-directed  and  highly  motivated.  
A  working  knowledge  of  FAA  FAR  regulations  43,  145,  121sub  L,  ATO  145,  DCA/JAA,  JAR145,  Parts  Manufacturing  Approval  (PMA)  process  and  Type  Certificate(TC’s)  
Experience  in  working  within  AS9100  standards.    Possessed  a  working  knowledge  of  ISO  14001  Environmental  Standard.  
Previous  aerospace  or  aviation  experience  is  preferred,  including  a  FAA  A  &  P  License  or  ICAO  Type  II  License.  
  

Education  

  

BA/BS  degree  in  Aeronautical/Aerospace,  Quality  Assurance,  Mechanical  Engineering  or  related  discipline  with  4  to  5  years  of  experience.    Diploma  holders  must  be  at  least  8  years  of  appropriate  experience.  An  added  plus  if  at  least  a  Black  Belt  in  Six  Sigma  or  Lean  Expert
